Rylina’s Pampas Grass Instructions
-
Step 1:
Inspect the Stems.
Put your pampas grass stems in the sun for at least 4 hours.
-
Step 2:
Shake out Loose Debris.
It is normal for the plumes to shed a LOT initially (hot mess!), we recommend this step be done outdoors. Hold the dry pampas grass stem firmly but gently shake or tap it against a flat surface, such as a table or countertop. This helps to loosen any compacted areas and separate the individual plumes.
-
Step 3:
Fluff the Plumes.
Using your fingers, GENTLY separate and fluff the plumes of the dry pampas grass stem. Start from the base and work your way towards the tip, ensuring that the plumes are evenly distributed.
-
Step 4:
Blow Dryer Method (optional).
For stubborn clumps or flattened areas, you can use a blow dryer on the lowest heat setting to gently fluff the plumes. Hold the blow dryer several inches away from the pampas grass and use a sweeping motion to distribute heat evenly.
-
Step 5:
Spray with Hairspray.
Once the plumes are fluffed to your satisfaction, hold a can of hairspray approximately 6 to 8 inches away from the pampas grass stem.
Lightly spray the plumes with a fine mist of hairspray, moving the can in a sweeping motion to ensure even coverage. Be careful not to oversaturate the grass.
Allow the hairspray to dry completely before handling the dry pampas grass further. This will help the hairspray set and hold the plumes in place.
Shake again if necessary.
-
Step 6:
Repeat for Each Stem.
Ensuring that all stems receive equal attention.
